Garden of the Gods

The name Garden of the Gods has dated back to 1859 when there were 2 surveyors who set up near Colorado Springs and one surveyor discovered an area that he suggested be a beer garden capitol. His partner wondered why it was such a good place for Gods to assemble and decided on the name Garden of the Gods.

For those who are planning trips to Colorado Springs, this is one sight that you need to see. Admission is free and you will find biking and hiking trails as well as steep formations of rocks. Be sure to bring your camera as this is something you won't see on a daily basis. Rock climbers will enjoy the challenge and before you can do so, there is a pass that you need to have. Enjoy gardens as well as horseback riding. You are advised to watch for rattlesnakes also.

There is a nature center as well that gives presentations on natural history as well as plat and wildlife history. Enjoy mineral displays and exhibits and you can also enjoy a restored ranch house which is called Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site.

Pikes Peak

This is an affordable attraction and you can take advantage of outdoor events such as whitewater rafting, downtown night life, horseback riding, cowboy dinners, and so much more. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

This is 146 acres of land that is home to 550 animals across 119 species of animals. The kids will enjoy seeing all the animals and can explore new species as well. Feed the giraffes and explore Africa. Your children can learn about amphibians and enjoy a petting zoo. Enjoy large bears and see animals that are nearly extinct. You will be learning about wildlife in numerous fun ways. Take a train ride around the zoo and enjoy a large carousel ride as well that no zoo visit is complete without.

Seven Falls

Visiting seven falls is sure to be the highlight of your visit to Colorado Springs. Seven Falls can be found in a canyon and is the only Waterfall in Colorado that's listed in National Geographic's list for International waterfalls. Enjoy hiking trails that can be found at the top near the falls and are each one mile. These hikes give a panoramic view of the plains. You should allow an hour for each hike and you should ensure you are staying on the path that reads paths. Anything outside of those paths is dangerous.

You can enjoy the wildlife here from Rainbow trout to the American Dipper and much more. You will be able to see male and female Hummingbirds as well as Brook Trout. You can feed the Trout and you can enjoy Native American dancers. There are also educational exhibits and a 36 viewer that allows you to see across the way to the falls and to view nature. There is a lot to see and do in Seven Falls.
